The second word in this couplet
    तेरे उजालों में भी दिल काँप काँप उठाता है
    मेरे मिज़ाज को आसूदगी भी रास नहीं
    tere ujaalo.n me.n bhii dil kaa.Np kaa.Np uThataa hai
mere mizaaj ko aasuudagii bhii raas nahii.N

is not उजालों, but actually जिलौ (jilau). It means “in front of, under rein of” (like a horse’s reins, not rei’g’n of a king).

The couplet is saying that even when I am in front of you, my heart is all aflutter; my very nature does not accept quiescence. The beauty of the verse comes alive when we note that lover’s very goal is to be near, in front of, under control of, his beloved. Yet, the poet here is unable to keep his unbridled emotions in check when he is in his beloved’s vicinity.
