हमारी साँसों में आज तक वोह हीना की खुशबू महक रही है
लबों पे नघमे मचल रहे हैं नज़र से मस्ती छलक रही है

Hamari saanson mein aaj tak woh heena ki khushbhoo mehak rahi hai
Labo-n pe naghme machal rahe hai-n nazar se masti chhalak rahi hai

वो मेरे नज़दीक आते आते हया से एक दिन सिमट गए थे
मेरे ख्यालों में आज तक वोह बदन की डाली लचक रही है

Woh mere nazdeek aate aate hayaa se ek din simat gaye the-y
Mere khayalo-n mein aaj tak woh badan ki daali lachak rahi hai

सदा जो दिल से निकल रही है वो शेर-ओ-नग़मों में ढल रही है
के दिल के आँगन में जैसे कोई ग़ज़ल की झांझर झलक रही है

Sadaa jo dil se nikal rahi hai woh sher-o-naghmo-n mein dhal rahi hai
Ke dil ke aangan mein jaise koi ghazal ki jhaanjhar jhalak rahi hai

तड़प मेरे बेकरार दिल की कभी तो उन पे असर करेगी
कभी तो वो भी जलेंगे इसमें जो आग दिल में देहक रही है

Tadap mere bekhraar dil ki kabhi To un-pay asar karey-gi
Kabhi to woh bhi jalengay isme jo aag dil main dahek rahi hai

    Yeh meri zindagi ki pheli gazal hai jise mein bachpan se pasand karti hu. Aur pata nahin kab yeh meri zindagi ki khani ban gayi. Sayad yeh mere liye hi liki gayi hai.

    Iss ghazal ke baare mein kya kahoon…jawaani ke pahle pahar mein iss ghazal se mulakaat hui thee aur aaj jawaani ke shayad aakhri pahar mein phir eek baar iss ghazal se ruhbaroo hui hai..
    kal tak sirf achchee lagtee thee aur aaj mahsoos kar sakta hun..

    This is in reply to Shika Gupta. This gazal is by Tasleem Fazli. If you feel the gazal is written for you, then it is most definitely written for you -this is the true quality of a great gazal.

    We may not be blessed with another Noor Jahan for centuries, if ever. By the way, the music composition by M. Ashraf, so simple yet so elegant, adds sparkle to both Tasleem’s verses and Noor Jahan’s immortal voice. Kudos to all three!!!
