I have heard the last sher as

    ‘zafar’ ashq koi bahae kyun,
ke main bekasee ka mazar hoon

    Which is correct?

these sentences are truth of life. This is the nature.

The last stanza starts with “Pay Fateha” which means to read (Pay) not “Ay” the (beginning) verses (Fateha) (of the Holy Koran).

Apne ujad ka matlab thoda galat btaya hai . Yahan par उजड ki jagah par उजड़ aana chahiye tha . Iska matlab Hota hai ‘बरबाद होना’ .

This Ghazal was not written by Bahadur Shah Zafar, the Author of this Ghazal is Iftikhar Hussain, popularly known by his pen name Muztar Khairabadi. He was the father of noted poet and lyricist Jan Nisar Akhtar and grandfather of Javed Akhtar.

Bilkul ghalat baat hai.. Yeh ghazal marhoom Bahadur shah zafar ki hi hai.. Muztar ki koi ghazal is standard ki nahin hai.. Muztar ka takhallus do baar is ghazal ke maqte men thoonsa gaya hai.

just because it was found in his grandfather’s handwriting validates it as khairabadi’s? this is an essential question to ask
